Whether you want a bed for personal use, or you want to open your own salon, you’ll find the right model for you; after all, there are hundreds and hundreds of options available! The number can be overwhelming, but if you run online searches, you’ll get a good sense of the market and its products – and what is reasonable within your budget. Wolff has long been seen as the industry standard for both safety and quality. These tanning beds are manufactured by other companies, but they use the lamp and reflector technologies patented by Wolff. These were named for and discovered by a German scientist named Friedrich Wolff, whose research on UV lights and athletes let him to notice that UV rays had a pleasing aesthetic result: tan skin. He brought his ideas and technology to the United States in 1978, patented his system, and has been the industry leader ever since. All the leading manufacturers use his technology.
